ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT

SUNDAY 17th APRIL

Weather improved considerably from yesterday's downpours.  Not a lot of interest to report today.  Studied map of South America but came to no conclusions.  I phoned scott in Dunedin both on his home and mobile but only got the voicemail on the mobile and left a message saying I hoped to get to Dunedin on Saturday 30th April.  The options are to hire a car or catch a coach for about £25.00 which takes 6 hours for the journey and leaves at 7.45 am or 2.00pm.  I'm undecided as to which option to take at present.

A call came through from Jane to say that Jingles had been taken ill.  Nick wanted to know if Rob had poisoned him, and Rob assured him he hadn't.  The visit cost $200 and if he had been kept in overnight it would have cost another $1600!  It seems probable that Jingles had taken in some soap whilst trying to get a drink from the tap in the kitchen.  Anyway he was home with some medication.

Other than that it was a case of reading, working on the computer and trying to figure out how to get the safety tag of my Rivers jacket.  Apparently there is a Rivers shop in Mount Druitt, but unfortunately I have thrown the receipt away.  Took the dog for a walk and went with Robert to Plumpton to top up Jeannette's car, and watched a bit of TV.  Nothing exciting!
