SHARKS

TUESDAY 11th JANUARY

Met up with Jane and Nick on the train into town and we walked from Town Hall to Darling Harbour where there was a Shark Exhibition at the Maritime Museum.  Sharks were always one of Nick's favourites, so he was enthralled.

Afterwards we went to the other side of the harbour and had an early lunch.  A steak sandwich and chips for Jane and I at $10.00 each and a large bowl of chips for Nick, which defeated him.
I texted Len only to learn that he and Patrick were on their way to the Maritime Museum from the Sydney Cricket Ground.  I arranged to meet them outside the Museum.  They had been allowed into the Members Stand at the SCG.  Their journey to Woy Woy to see Len's sister Marie (pronounced Mari) on Sunday had been a success.  Len had found the range of Shane Warne underwear at Target (but not at the QVC as suggested by Alan - the Broadway Centre had done the trick) ,and both he and Patrick wore the said garmets. When they arrived in Woy Woy Len told Marie to stay seated as he had some terrible news to impart.  She was shocked by this intro, until he proceeded to tell her what they were wearing, and then she burst out laughing!  Their flights have been sorted out and they are getting back to London three hours later than scheduled so Patrick will be able to go to work on the Friday.  His father is picking them up from the airport and they are staying the night with him.  The added bonus is that Len will then get a lift home to Beckenham the next day!

We went round the other exhibition at the Maritime which was about the immigrant children to Australia from GB, which was very interesting.  Some of the children were scarred for life others loved the life they had in Australia, albeit virtually all had a tough start in life.  Len and Patrick then went on to the Shark exihbition, at which point I bade them farewell and bon voyage and walked to Red Eye Records in King Street.  I picked up a Billy Edd Wheeler CD as well as a Ray Sharpe on Hoo Doo and Viva Elvis, an album of remixes.  I walked to Town Hall station indulging in a banana and coffee ice cream enroute.  I listened to the albums on getting home and was well pleased with my selection.

Robert picked me up after 6.00pm and we went round Carlingford.  Jingles was very relaxed when we arrived.
However that didn't last too long and soon he was dashing around like a mad thing!

Jane cooked lasagne which we had with a bottle of red wine, and I beat Nick at indoor football (I'm starting to gain an ascendency in this field).  Robert and I then called in at the Epping for a couple before the pub closed at 10.45pm.  After returning home Rob made tea and then phoned Bridie up to wish her a Happy New Year.  I had a word with her as well and apparently she has yet another chest infection.  Then it was time to adjourn and get ready for tomorrows departure to Ballana.
