BYRON BAY

SATURDAY 15th JANUARY

After discussing matters musical first thing in the morning, and reviewing the "Eddie Cochran" - Alis Lesley - Little Richard picture (we are both of the opinion that it is Cochran), Rodddy drove me out to Byron Bay where we parked and walked down towards the beach.

We stopped for a coffee/tea on the way back and wandered around the town getting lost in the process and being unable to find the car.  A goodly walk up and down the streets failed to locate the vehicle, and just as Roddy was starting to get worried he spotted his "Vietnam Veteran" sticker and we duly located his car.

After returning home we watched several DVD's of the Time-Life Opry series. I then did some searching on my computer and read more of Roddy's Holly In Australia book.  Then it was time to go out to eat at the RSL Club in Ballana.

I had delicious garlic prawns on rice with a couple of glasses of Chardonnay, whilst the other three had roast lamb.  We returned home to watch Sydney draw with Melbourne Victory with a last minute equaliser.

Roddy had planned to take me to Brisbane tomorrow as it is only two hours away, but the terrible floods in Queensland have spread as far as Brisbane so there is obviously no point in even trying to get there.
