TURNING COLD

WEDNESDAY 2nd MARCH

Nothing really much to say, other than the weather being overcast and relatively cold at about 19 degrees necessitating a change to long leg and armed clothing.  Day's routine as normal until Robert returned home from work and we then took off for Epping where the Under 9s were being assessed.  They play 9 a-side and with 30 players signed up they decided to run three teams.  They started off with three 5 a-side matches with accessors watching each game, making notes and periodically swapping players between matches.  In his first game Nick scored all three of his sides goals and hit a post with a fourth attempt.  He then got moved to another game.  Finally there was a 9 a-side game with subs.  The three sides, A, B and C were announced and Nick made it into the A team.  Robert reckoned that they had pretty much picked all the best players for this team and they will compete in Division 2 of the Under 9 league.

On the way home I got Nick a McDonald's which he took home with him.  I watched the England innings against Ireland before retiring, they certainly failed to make use of the last three overs and I reckon should have scored at least 20 more runs.
