SATURDAY 5th MARCH
It was a chilling morning and promised to be a much colder day today. It was on with the T-shirt, long sleeve shirt and even a jumper, along with long trousers. Even Robert wore a jacket! Nick was playing basketball at 8.30am today, so it was an early start to get to Epping on time. However when we got to Arden School there was nobody aound on the courts. Robert rang Jane only to be told that the match was at Arden in Beecroft (which is the branch that Nick attends and Jane teaches at at). Fortunately it is not that far away, but even so the match was underway when we got there. However Nick was not on the court when we arrived as Arden had a full team of subs and the teams alternated. When he came on Nick shot three baskets and was all over the court, one minute tackling back, the next dribbling down the wing at speed. I think the final score was 16-5 to Arden. Obviously all that training we gave him last Sunday paid off! Obviously it was worth the damaged elbow.
After the game we followed 'Pa (Grandfather Doug) to a cafe in Pennant Hills that he has taken a fancy to, and Robert and I both beinf pretty peckish by then went for the full breakfast. Nick and Jane had hot
chocolate and toast and banana bread, whilst Doug had eggs on toast. Afterwards we went our separate ways, and we headed back to Oakhurst. I decided to walk to the Plumpton Shopping Centre for a bit of exercise, and purchased Reilly a sleeping matress, as seeing him lying on the concerete floor all the time made me wonder if he was comfortable. However teaching him to lay on it proved to be a harder task - in fact it may well take quite some time. Thereafter I spent the rest of the day reading, and working on the computer as well as watching a bit of cricket on the TV. I had an e-mail from Angela with what I think is a confirmation of a booking for the premises in Eastwood, but I sent a reply copied to Bridie seeking definite confirmation.
