SUNDAY DINNER

SUNDAY 1st MAY
So this is my base in New Zealand, Scott's house in Abbotsford on the outskirts of Dunedin.

Thia is Scott's Toyoyta that he is lending me along with his satnav.  He has a company van that he uses for work, so doesn't need it during the week.  Weather detriorated a bit this morning but improved in the afternoon.  I watched the Great Robbery that went by the name of Chelsea v Spurs, as well as Wigan v Everton.

We went into Dunedin town centre and bought a detailed map of the Southern Island before retiring to Gloria Jean's for a coffee and to study the map and Scott to run through some ideas of where I might visit, based on his own experience of driving his parents around a few months ago.   I decided I would stay in Dunedin on Monday and set off for Invercargill on Tuesday and then head on up to Te Anau On Wednesday.  Motels have been booked as well as day trips to Doubtful Bay and Milford Sound..

On the way home Scott  drove me past Dunedin Train Station which is apparently the most photographed building in Dunedin, and here's one more.

In the late afternoon we headed to Scott's friends Robert and Penny, who hail from Melton Mowbray.  Their son Andrew cooked the Sunday dinner which was venson pie, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and cabbage.  Their other son plays in the same football team with Scott, and another Scott who also plays for the same club was there  with his girl friend as was Haley, Andrew's girl friend.  With beer and wine, not to mention fruit and cream and lolly cake, it was all a very filling meal.

We returned home and watched the box before I retired to read for an hour or so.
